DESCRIPTION:On 19 September 2023\, the Swiss financial sector will meet at the Finance Forum Zurich in the Kongresshaus to discuss the future of the Swiss financial centre and current opportunities and risks. Further speakers will follow shortly. \n\n\n\nThe Finance Forum Zurich celebrates its premiere on Tuesday\, 19 September\, at the Kongresshaus Zurich. The new meeting place for the Swiss financial sector brings together financial service providers from all sectors in an exclusive setting to discuss the current opportunities and challenges for the Swiss financial centre. The motto of the Finance Forum Zurich is “Turning point in the Swiss financial centre” and shows how the financial world reacts to market distortions and geopolitical risks. Leading figures from politics\, business and science will shed light on the latest developments and address the long-term megatrends. \n\n\n\nThe Finance Forum Zurich offers top-class speakers and talk guests. The first names are already known. One of the main speakers is Axel Weber. He is one of the most renowned economists in the German-speaking world. The economist was President of the Deutsche Bundesbank and a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank from 2004 to 2011. In this capacity\, he was one of the key figures during the euro crisis\, when the threat of a break-up of the European Economic and Monetary Union loomed. Axel Weber chaired the Board of Directors of UBS from 2012 to 2022 and radically restructured the big bank to mitigate the aftermath of the financial crisis. \n\n\n\nFurther top-class speakers from the financial world have been announced. Mirjam Staub-Bisang is country head of the US asset manager BlackRock in Switzerland. She has been in office since 2018 and also acts as Senior Advisor for Sustainable Investing. She has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry with a focus on asset management and was most recently CEO and co-founder of an investment company specializing in sustainable investments. Thomas Wüst is CEO and founder of ti&m. Wüst has been involved in innovations in the IT sector for over 30 years and has successfully implemented numerous projects in the financial industry. \n\n\n\nA panel at the new industry meeting will focus on market access for Swiss financial service providers. Under the leadership of moderator Andi Lüscher\, representatives of the stock exchange operator SIX and the State Secretariat for International Financial Matters will discuss the opportunities and risks in cross-border business with representatives of private banks and asset managers. Participants in the panel include Christoph König\, designated Deputy State Secretary for International Financial Matters\, and Urs Reich\, Head of Public Affairs & Market Structure at SIX Group. Further speakers and talk guests at the Finance Forum Zurich will follow in the coming weeks. \n\n\n\nThe Finance Forum Zurich is the new central meeting place for the Swiss financial centre and offers an independent information and discussion platform for the financial sector.
